Its A-Blazin'

There is nothing like a pair of silver heels to brighten your day. Yesterday was friend-filled, from lunch with good college friends to dinner with neighborhood buddies. In between, I taught a group of 7th-graders from South America, worked on a walking tour script and planned a menu for the weekend.
The list:
-black cotton tank, Target
-blackish blueish blazer, Theory
-black, pink, blue and orange patterned skirt, French Connection
-black tights, Hanes
-silver bow heels, Marc Jacobs
-chunky watch, ? from Loehmann's
-silver heart watch locket, UO
-black fuzzy hat, H&M
The outfit was built around the tank, believe it or not. I purchased it from Target recently in both black and white, and since yesterday was chilly but not cold I wanted to use it as my underlayer to keep from being too warm. The skirt, which I recently rediscovered in the closet in my mom's house, was purchased at some point in high school. Like many things from that era, what was a low-slung hip skirt now hits me at the waist, but I think it works here.
The grey day was interesting, picture-wise. Most of my shots came out like this, which I actually thought looked pretty neat. Didn't show the richness of the colors, though, so I tried for more true-to-life photos.
Lastly, a huge thanks to Modesty is Pretty for giving me the Sunshine Award! She has amazing modest style-- love her cardigan and skirt combos, which are always fun and interesting, never dowdy. Her DIY skills are totally enviable, too! If you have a moment to check out a new blog, hers is a must-read in my book.
